Title 1 Reading: School-Parent Compact

Your child may have the opportunity to participate in Troy City Schools Title 1 Reading program.  This program is a part of the Every Student Succeeds Act.  In 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), was signed into law to improve education opportunities for all children attending a Title 1 school.  This federally funded program provides assistance to schools serving students who need additional services in academics.  Troy City Schools analyze reading data from multiple sources in order to make consistent, on-going decisions for students displaying a need for additional reading  instruction.  This program supports Troy City School’s efforts to provide a strong standards-based education for students.  In order to ensure families have a clear understanding of Title 1 Reading, expectations of the program are outlined below...
